Objectives

Guide non-native speakers of Korean and overseas Korean to methods of learning Korean and to expand the use of Korean around the world

Measure and evaluate the use of Korean performance and utilize the test results as a vehicle for overseas study and employment

Applicant Qualifications

For those who are non-native speakers of Korean, overseas Koreans and overseas residential Koreans

- A Korean language learner

- An international student who wants to study in Korea and overseas

- A jobseeker wishing to work in domestic and overseas-based Korean companies and public institutions

- A student studying overseas and a graduate from overseas school (Overseas residential Koreans)

Roles of Testing Management

- Ministry of Education and Human Resources : Directing and supervising the test

- Korean Institute for Curriculum and Evaluation : Overall management of testing including presenting, scoring and printing of Korean Language Testing

Period for Testing : Biannually

Difference in the scheduled date for testing may accur depending on regions and time differences.

	Standard Test of Proficiency in Korean (Standard TOPIK, S-TOPIK)
	- Measuring and evaluating proficiency in Korean required in academic characteristics such as understanding of Korean culture and studying overseas

	Test of Proficiency for Business in Korean (Business TOPIK, B-TOPIK)
	- Measuring and evaluating communication ability required for everyday life and employment in Korean companies
